I got injured in 2011 by a grad missile that fell on a car. Me and my friend Lior were outside our houses, and when the siren went on we started to run toward his house. We didn't made it on time and we stopped and laid in the middle of the street, after six explosions we wanted to get to his house that was 20 meter from us, when we got up the grad fell on a car 10 meter behind us. I find myself laying on the ground and don't feel anything, but I knew something is wrong. I saw my right leg laying next to me, not attached to my body. I was sure I am gonna die, but God showed me that I am staying. My left leg got a big shrapnel through it which severed the artery and almost got amputated in the hospital. I was one and half months laying on the bed with surgeries every second day, including incredibly painful skin grafts. I was in a coma for a day and a half. After the saved my left lag, I was sent to the rehab, and there I was getting strong and a prosthetic leg, and after two and half months I was released from the rehab. I was down to 80 pounds and had a lot of trouble learning to walk again, especially with the prothestic leg.
Lior got a lot of small shrapnel mostly in his legs and a bit in his upper body.
The move that we did for getting up to get to his house saved our life, because our heads was where were our legs. The worst part was thinking about my family. I knew I would need a lot of help to recuperate and how much burden it would be on my parents. I remembered being in the hospital thinking my mom would kill me if I died. It helped me laugh. Since then, I know this has been wonderful.
